Here at Arrowhead Lofts I put pride into the birds I raise. Arrowhead Lofts was started in 1998. I wanted to start doing the White bird release business so I started to pursue finding the best quality White Racing Pigeons I could. When I was younger I had Racing Pigeons and I knew the first thing I wanted was “QUALITY BIRDS!” Start with the Best breeders, breed from the Best birds raised, and then you will have the “Best!”

The White Dove Release business was a “VERY” successful adventure. That was in 1999 to 2005. I remembered very well what great birds handled like, and I realized I just had good homing pigeons. Of course having the best White Dove Release business wasn’t enough. I knew I had to have great racers so I could also race again. What I had was definitely not going to make it. I figured with very good whites and grizzles I could also use them for the business since I needed some better than average Release Birds. The year 2000 came up and I saw that Mike Ganus was getting ready for a new adventure in Grizzles and White Racing Pigeons. Mike in 1999 had imported Golden Witten and White Horse. Two “VERY GOOD” racers and breeders from Europe. I called Mike and we planned to meet at the Snow Bird Race in November of 2000. At the Snow Bird Race he explained to me about the quality of those birds, and told me he was going to cross them with his other Champions. In late summer of 2001 I bought four white young hens from Mike. Every one of them turned out to be great breeders! Two were off the Golden Witten grandson (GFL-683 Benjamin) crossed with a Verheyen Hofken Hen. (White Lace.) One of the other ones was Golden Witten and White Horse cross. (GFL-167 / GFL-718) Sire: Golden Witten and Vitesse. Dam: White Horse and Picanol 082. the last one was a grandson of Golden Witten and a hen from Norbert Peters. (Select Pride.) All like I said excellent breeders. Now though I needed some White or Grizzle cock birds.

I made a total of three trips back to Mike’s 2001, 2002, and 2003 to acquire the best possible pigeons I could buy. I eventually came up with a great group of White Racers. The rest is all history now. These birds have produced Winners at several cities in the U.S.

I bought Mike’s famous pair of Grizzles two years ago, “White Cloud & Daisy.” They are now here at Arrowhead Lofts still breeding winners & Breeders. I had been trying to buy Daisy for three years. Finally Mike said I would have to buy them as a pair. From the first time I saw her I knew I had to have her. (750)

Mike Ganus now has only one hen from the Golden Witten and White Horse days. I just recently purchased his last two cock birds he was holding onto because of there breeding record. One was GFL-683 of off Golden Witten and Golden Chimes 92. The other was GFL-554 off of White Horse and Charter Meeuw. I now also own the two top breeders off of Ikon and Charter Meeuw. They are both cock birds and nest mates. One is GFL-636 White Cloud and the other is GFL-637 Dark Cloud. I now own three of the four birds that were off of Golden Witten and Golden Chimes 92. Mike bred four birds from Golden Witten when he first came to Mike’s loft. He considers these birds off that mating to probably be the best mating ever off of Golden Witten. They were GFL-683, GFL-684, GFL-750 and GFL-751. I have all but GFL-751 and am presently line breeding them to keep the original Witten Blood. There is one other cock bird that I should mention off the Witten cock. When Mike bought Golden Witten from Ludo he also bought a very nice son off of him. That bird is NL-99-1049025 which is from Golden Witten when mated to the famous Olympia Queen. This bird is absolutely fantastic in every way. I do consider him the best bird in the USWitten. This bird has bred many winners and foundation birds across the US. I have two foundation hens I bought from Mike in 2002. They are GFL-453-AU-01 and GFL-454-AU-01 which are off of 1049025 and White Lace. White Lace was one of the best White Grizzle Hofkens that Verheyen bred. I now like I said, am concentrating on line breeding the “BEST” Golden Witten blood there ever was. off of the

I will also do a bit of the GFL-554 crossing here and there with some of the Witten birds because of his quality and breeder record for Mike. I have been crossing A few select Hofkens and Ikon birds with the grizzles also. Mike was right on when he told me to cross the Grizzles with Hofkens and Ikons.

The birds I sell are birds that I have raised during the breeding season, and put in a separate loft area. There I wait till after the molt and check them out and cull. I don’t believe in selling squeakers. The birds change so much in 10-12 months.
